Santa letters and postmarks
The Santa Claus, Ind., picture postmark is available now. Although customers drive miles to obtain the cancellation, most mail their stamped and addressed Christmas cards to the post office. Package them in a sturdy envelope or box and mail to:

The picture postmark must be requested by the customer. Allow at least a 2-by-4-inch space in the stamp area for the picture postmark. There is no charge for postmarking, but there is a limit of 50 postmarks per person per day, through Dec. 24.

Parents are advised to check that a legible return address is included.
